JCI (Junior Chamber International) Donegal in association with AIB has launched the TOYP (Ten Outstanding Young Person Awards), which is a global initiative that identifies innovative, extraordinary and dedicated young people.

The organisation is calling on the public to nominate young leaders aged between 18 and 40 in your community.

By recognising their achievements and sharing their stories of discovery, determination and ingenuity, the awards can inspire more young people to go out there and become leaders, who create better societies.

TOYP JCI Donegal Photo 1 – (L-R) Davitt Walsh (Café Davitt, TOYP winner 2018), Ann-Louise McClintock (JCI Donegal), Chris Frize (TOYP winner 2017), Sandra McGettigan (AIB), Charlene Patton (Charlene Patton Auctioneers), Emma Boylan (Outside the Box)

The local awards ceremony will be held on Friday, 5th April 2019 in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny. After the local awards, the Donegal winners may go on to be recognised nationally and possibly internationally for their achievements.

Ann-Louise McClintock, Organiser of the local awards with JCI Donegal added: “We are excited to be running the awards for the sixth year in a row in Donegal. In 2018 we were thrilled to have a national winner in Johnny Loughrey and having AIB on board this year again is an incredible boost to the competition. Donegal is full of incredible young people and we are privileged to recognise them.”

There are ten categories to choose from:
● Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment
● Political, legal, and/or governmental affairs
● Academic leadership and/or accomplishment
● Cultural achievement
● Moral and/or environmental leadership
● Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights
● Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership
● Scientific and/or technological development
● Personal improvement and/or accomplishment
● Medical innovation

Head over to the online form on www.jciireland.ie/toyp and get your nominations in before the closing date on Monday, 4th March 2019.
