Ciaran Coll made his Derry City debut tonight as the Candystripes bagged a point on the road at Cork City.

Coll, who was an unused sub in Derry’s opening three games, was a late inclusion in the starting line-up after Patrick McClean got injured in the warm-up.

The former Finn Harps captain, signed by City in the off-season, helped City earn a 0-0 draw at Turner’s Cross.

Darren Cole riffled wide in their only chance of the opening period, while Shane Griffin drilled against the post at the other end.

It was a game of few chances, though Dan Smith and Conor McCarthy could have won it for Cork late on.

Barry McNamee played the 90 minutes for Derry, while Adrian Delap came on for Michael McCrudden for the last 19 minutes.
