Conor gets his ‘darling’ on First Dates Ireland

There was delight for Letterkenny man Conor Downey last night as he found a match on First Dates Ireland.

The engineer hit it off with his blind date Kristi from Kilkenny/Dubai as they bonded over Comic Con and agreed to a second date.

The first date almost didn’t happen at all, as Conor revealed that he had to get a flight over from London that morning for the rendezvous.

“At one stage I was going to stand you up and I was like, no I couldn’t do that. And you know what? If I didn’t make the effort I certainly think I would have regretted it,” he told her.

Conor was blown away when he found out that cosplay-loving Kristi had been to Comic Con that same day, as he had told producers that his dream girl would be one who was a fan of the conventions.

Conor impressed Kristi by calling her ‘darling’ while she admitted that she thought he was cute. In the moment of truth, they revealed that they’d love to see each other again. Kristi even agreed to let him paint her orange for her next cosplay!

It was revealed at the end of the show that the pair met up in London. But we don’t know if they ever made it to Comic Con…
