Letterkenny Rovers’ Conor Tourish is a nominee for the Intermediate Player of the Year Award at Sunday’s ‘3’ International Awards.

Tourish excelled at the 2018 FAI Intermediate Interprovincial Tournament for the Ulster Senior League and has been a consistent performer at domestic level for Rovers.

Tourish recently made his debut for the Republic of Ireland amateur team, playing against the Irish U21s, in what was Stephen Kenny’s first game in charge.

Tourish lined up previously in the Hibernia Cup and has played for a home-based Irish U18 squad in Wales under the management of Paul Doolin.

The centre-back has been linked with a move back into senior ranks again, having previously spent five years at Derry City.

Injury woes ended his time at Derry and Rovers have benefitted with his fine displays since his return to the local intermediate ranks.

Tourish was described last month by Letterkenny Rovers manager Eamonn McConigley as ‘a fantastic player’ and will hope to add a personal gong to his list of achievements before returning to aid Rovers’ USL title push.
