Gardaí are investigating a break-in at a newly opened restaurant in Inishowen.

The Treehouse Bar & Restaurant in the border village of Muff was targeted by thieves on Thursday night (21st March).

While the culprits left empty-handed, a significant amount of damage was caused in the attempted burglary.

A large glass door was smashed and a till has been taken from the restaurant, which opened just six months ago.

But the Treehouse team have refused to let last night’s incident stop them from opening today.

Owner Paul McGonigle told Donegal Daily: “It’s business as usual here, we had breakfast this morning, it’s lunchtime now. We are still welcoming our customers as normal.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Muff Garda Station on +353749384002
