Keith Cowan says Finn Harps players would have to have been ‘lifted off the ground’ if they hadn’t defeated Sligo Rovers in the EA Sports Cup.

Stephen Doherty’s extra-time winner fired Harps into the next round via their first victory of 2019.

“We’d have had to pick a few boys off the ground if we didn’t get the win here,” Cowan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“I think we played the better football and created more of the chances. Maybe we deserved it in normal time.

“We got what we deserved in the end.”
