A car fire which broke out in a Letterkenny housing estate yesterday morning is being treated as deliberate.

Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze at Meadowbank Park in the Glencar area after 4am on the 6th of May.

The fire was eventually brought under control, but a substantial amount of damage was caused to the car in question.

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to come forward if they were around the scene at the time or noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area between 4.05am and 4.25am.

They are also appealing for any taxi drivers to come forward that may have been working on the Bank Holiday weekend that could possibly have any pressing footage that may be of interest to the crime on their dash cam.

Gardaí can be contacted at the Letterkenny Station on 0749167100 or on the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
