The north west is basking in sunshine and heat today as summer weather finally arrives in Donegal.
The weather has warmed up to highs of 20C this Monday, with the west experiencing the best of the heat.
We’ll have to enjoy the good weather while it lasts though, as rain is set to arrive later in the week.
Met Eireann forecasters say that while the days are hot, temperatures will dip at nighttime.
Tonight will be dry with clear spells and temperatures of 5-8C.
The sun will return on Tuesday with highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees and warmest in the north west.
Wednesday is also expected to be dry and bright and reach up to 20C again.
More cloud is likely on Thursday as the hot spell continues, before showers set in on Friday.
