A man in Ballybofey was frightened from his sleep when his car was set on fire last weekend.
The incident occurred in Sessiagh View estate at around 11am on Saturday morning.
The man was woken by the sound of an engine running outside, he then heard loud bangs and realised that his car had been set alight. It is believed that the suspect made a getaway in a dark saloon style car.
An investigation has been launched by Gardaí, who are appealing especially to residents of the estate to come forward if they saw or heard anything in relation to this incident.
Taxi drivers who may have been in the general area are also being asked to check their dash cam for suspicious activity.
