Carl McHugh looks set for an Indian summer

Carl McHugh looks set to move to the Indian Super League in the coming weeks.

The Lettermacaward man is out of contact at Motherwell, where he has been since 2016.

The 26-year-old defender admits that he is tempted by the lure of India.

“I have a few offers. India is a possibility,” he said.

“I’m 26 and I’d like to go and see a different part of the world because you only get one career.”

McHugh joined Motherwell from Plymouth in July 2016 and has captained the Steelmen.

With offers from India, McHugh is keen to give himself a new challenge.

He said: “I’ve played in England in League One and Two, I’ve played up here and at 26 I’d like to experience something different so it’s something I’d be interested in.

“I’ve got a girlfriend but no kids so I’m an easy traveller. There’s not too much uprooting so we’ll see what happens.”
