Boris Johnston has been confirmed as the new Tory leader and the next prime minister of the UK.
The former foreign secretary was elected as Tory leader this morning, beating Jeremy Hunt with 66% of the votes.
He will succeed Theresa May as UK prime minister and will lead the UK’s exit from the EU.
Johnston has repeatedly advocated a no-deal Brexit and has said that the UK will leave the EU on 31 October “come what may, do or die”.
Johnson will officially take office on Wednesday afternoon.
