Bronze medals for Swilly Seals pair at Irish Nationals

SWILLY SEALS got off to a flying start yesterday at the 2019 Irish Summer Nationals with two medals bagged on the opening day.

Benji Cummings and Cody Dunnion both took bronze medals.

Dunnion stole the show in a heated final in the 400 individual medley, storming to third place with a time of 5.02.00 grabbing the bronze.

He also made his mark on the 100 breast coming in at 1.16.05.

Cummings swam in the 100m breaststroke and made his way into the finals.

Seeded in 6th place, he dropped 2.07 seconds to grab the first medal of the week for Swilly Seals in third place.

Benji also put in a massive effort in the 200 freestyle.

Molly Nulty who knocked 6.25 seconds off her personal best time with an impressive 5.32.24 in the challenging 400 individual medley. She then PB’d again in the 100 breast landing herself a fourth-place finish.

Oran Mulligan swam an impressive 1.23 in the 100 breaststroke, putting himself in 15th position in his age group.
