Martin McGroarty, from Rinboy, Fanad, maybe the first Fanad man to have climbed Mont Blanc in the French Alps.
Martin started the climb on Saturday morning, moving between camps to acclimatize to the altitude before arriving at the last tramstop and taking on the 4,809-metre summit.
In Mont Blanc, researchers have warned that climbs that were once relatively straightforward have become more challenging because of the risk of falling debris.
However, battling on, McGroarty made it to the top and planted the Donegal flag on Tuesday morning.
He is currently on the way back down the mountain.
