KILCAR clinched their 14th All-County Football League Division One title as the Towney men breezed past Cloughaneely this evening.

Kilcar 2-18 Cloughaneely 0-10

After Naomh Conaill’s loss at St Eunan’s earlier in the afternoon, Barry Doherty’s side knew that a win would see them crowned champions.

With Eoin McHugh back from inter-county duty, Kilcar led 1-7 to 0-2 at the break, with Doherty netting in the 25th minute for the opening goal.

Mark McHugh fired a penalty wide in the first minute of the game.

Eoin McHugh – who scored 1-4 – netted the second goal four minutes from time.

Kilcar scorers: Eoin McHugh 1-4, Conor Doherty 1-1, Mark Sweeney, Matthew McClean 0-3 each, Ciaran McGinley, Mark McHugh (2f) 0-2 each, Andrew McClean, Pauric Carr, Barry McGinley 0-1 each
