It is set to be another dull and damp Sunday in Donegal with temperatures dropping to as low as 5C tonight.
Met Eireann is predicting a cooler night across Ireland with heavy showers predicted at the start of the week.
And it appears that we’re in for a grim start to the week with more heavy showers predicted for Monday.
Heavy and thundery downpours are expected to arrive into the afternoon and early evening, with highest temperatures of 15 to 17C.
The unsettled weather looks set to last the rest of the week.
“Starting out dull and damp today with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle,” Met Eireann said.
“Brighter conditions with isolated showers will develop across the west and northwest later this morning, gradually extending to other parts.
“Generally dry tonight with long clear spells. Feeling chilly with lowest temperatures ranging 5 to 9 degrees Celsius. Some shallow fog patches too, in just light westerly breezes.
“Tomorrow will start out largely dry on Monday with good sunshine though cool, and with some showers moving into Atlantic counties.
“Showers will become more widespread into the afternoon and early evening, with some heavy and thundery ones as they track eastwards across the country.
“Highest temperatures will range 15 to 17 degrees, in westerly breezes, which will become gusty around showers.”
