Watch: Termon captain pays tribute to ‘Danny O’ after county final win

TERMON LADIES captain Emer Gallagher paid an emotional tribute to the late Danny O’Donnell after they captured the Donegal senior ladies title this evening.

Termon defeated Glenfin 5-6 to 2-23 to win the title for the first time in four years.

There were euphoric and emotional scenes as Termon toasted their success on a day when Geraldine McLaughlin scored a stunning 4-5.

The sleeves of the Termon jerseys were emblazoned ‘Danny O’ in memory of one of their biggest supporters, who passed away in January.

“There is one man who isn’t here today and that’s ‘Danny O’,” Gallagher said.

“At the start of this year, when we were talking about the county championship and talking about Termon ladies, there is one man who you would always associate with the Termon ladies and that was ‘Danny O’.

“Even though he’s not here in person, by God he’s here in spirit. We know damn well what he’d have been saying when we were getting a bit lax.

“This one is certainly for him.”

‘Danny O’ was a former chairman of the Termon ladies board and was a huge supporter of the ladies team.
