Callum Morris continues his ascent with win in Wicklow

Following a summer break, the mountain bike season started back with the final round of the Vitus Gravity Enduro Championship in Carrick, County Wicklow.

Clonmany’s Callum Morris headed into the event with a 10-point lead in the championship and although a top 3 position would be enough to clinch the overall series, he was determined to continue his winning form and take the title in style.

Practise on the Saturday was relatively trouble free and Morris was happy with the setup of the bike heading into race day.

Warm and dry weather left the course in perfect condition for the riders and the young Inishowen lad was in fine form winning every stage to taking victory by 35 seconds and the 2019 U14 title.

This was his 10th win in as many races at Irish events this year and  great momentum to carry into this weekend’s event in Castlewellan, Co Down, which is the final round of the First Tracks Enduro Championship. Callum holds a 40 point series lead.
