TERMON’S Johnny McCafferty was one of the heroes this afternoon for the Donegal Masters as they defeated Dublin in the All-Ireland final in Roscommon.

McCafferty is still playing senior football for Termon and he kicked the score of the game as Donegal prevailed in the Masters decider by 0-9 to 0-7.

“Maybe at Masters football you can take the odd chance like that,” McCafferty told Ocean FM’s Paddy McGill after the game.

“It was one of those shots, when it left the boot it was going over. It was nice to get it.”

Donegal were 0-4 to 0-2 in front at half-time and they managed to hold Dublin at bay in the second half.

McCafferty said: “It was really tough in the second half.

“Dublin were very strong. At half-time, it looked like Dublin were the favourites because the wind was with them in the second half, but we pushed on with a few early scores.”
