The Twin Towns of Ballybofey and Stranorlar are celebrating their second annual walking festival with a fun programme of walks.

Walks range from easy routes suitable for novices, up to challenging paths for the more adventurous, and two family events.

The committee has worked hard to make sure the festival is suitable for young and old alike.

Leah Fairman, of Ballybofey and Stranorlar Integrated Community Company (BASICC) who are sponsoring the festival, said: “After such great feedback last year (and with over 240 participants) we’ve made the programme even bigger and better this year.

“The Finn Valley area has brilliant walks, with a huge variety of terrain, and stunning scenery.

“The fun of our walking festival is that we can promise most of our visitors to show them places they wouldn’t normally find by themselves.

Shelley Gallen, of The Hatter Tea Room, and Committee member continues: “We are especially pleased to bring back some of the much-requested favourites from last year, including our family event in Drumboe Woods in the evening – Adventures in the Dark.

“We had amazing feedback and this event is already nearly sold out. We encourage everyone to get their tickets booked early, as all our events were very popular last year.”

For more information about the festival please contact the organisers through their Facebook @twintownswalkingfestival; email twintownswalkingfestival@gmail.com or call 0876075555.
