Community clean-ups are set to continue this weekend in the Ard Na Ri estate.
The Long Lane Area Residents Association had agreed that one way to achieve their aims and objectives of improving the Long Lane and bringing a sense of community to the area, would be to hold monthly clean-ups in various estates.
Chairperson, Finn O Donnell, said: ”We want to link in all estate on Long Lane and create a platform for residents to get to know one another.
“One way of doing this is having these community clean-ups. The estate gets cleaned and people get to meet other residents in the Long Lane that they might not already know.
“So we are killing two birds with one stone on this, which is great,” he added.
“We had our first clean up in Meadowbank which brought people from Glenard, Ard Na Ri and Ard Lonan.
“The Meadowbank residents are now returning that help by coming up to Ard Na Ri.”
The clean up will commence this Saturday, October 12th at 12pm with a meeting point at the entrance of Ard Na Ri estate.
