Joshua Magee completed a good day for the Raphoe family with a win at the SaarLorLux Open in Germany yesterday.

Magee defeated Sweden’s Felix Burestedt in the first round of the men’s singles.

Magee took a 21-18 21-9 win to move into the last 16, where he will face England’s fifth seed Toby Penty this evening.

Also in Saarbrücken, Sam and Chloe Magee had an opening round 21-17 21-15 win over Bjarne Geiss and Emma Moszczynski from Germany.

The Magee siblings now have a last 16 clash against French pair Eloi Adam and Margot Lambert.

In the men’s doubles, Joshua Magee teams up with Paul Reynolds and they take on Bjarne Geiss and Jan Colin Volker this afternoon in the round of 32.
