THERE was a unique family double at the Donegal Senior Cross County Championships today.
Husband and wife Ciaran and Teresa Doherty won the individual medals.
Letterkenny AC’s Ciaran Doherty took the senior men’s title while his wife Teresa, in the colours of Finn Valley AC, took the women’s title.
Today’s win at Finn Valley was Ciaran Doherty’s first senior men’s crown, while Teresa, the former Teresa McGloin, was celebrating success for the tenth time.
Ciaran Doherty saw off Finn Valley duo Paddy Brennan and Mark McPaul to take the win. Teresa staved off the efforts of Letterkenny AC’s Nakita Burke and Claire McGuigan of Lifford-Strabane AC.
Finn Valley AC won both the senior men’s and senior women’s team titles.
