Gardaí are investigating a case of criminal damage after a car was set on fire at Mongorry Wood outside Raphoe.

The forest gate was damaged and a car was found burnt-out in the forest last week.

The incidents occurred sometime between Monday 2nd December and Wednesday 4th December.

Coillte employees first discovered the damage at the entrance gate. A burnt-out car was then found at the rear of the forestry.

Gardaí are calling on the public to report any people or vehicles they noticed acting suspiciously in the area.

Anyone with any information that can help with the investigation can contact Letterkenny Garda Station on +353 74 9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
