Listen: Brian MacIntyre says previous pains drove St Eunan’s to U21 glory

ST EUNAN’S Under-21 captain Brian MacIntyre says his team-mates vowed that they wouldn’t suffer another disappointment on Sunday.

The black and amber defeated Naomh Conaill in the final at Convoy, with Niall O’Donnell and Padraig McGettigan netting in a 2-9 to 1-2 win.

“We have been favourites coming up, but with this group we’ve won an Under-14 and nothing else,” MacIntyre pointed out to Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“We have been favourites going into every game, but that doesn’t count for anything. We put emphasis on out-working them and we worked hard.

“There was no way we were leaving without the cup. We weren’t finishing our underage careers with a loss. A lot of us have senior experience and that definitely helped us.”
