AN EARLY Gareth Gallagher goal gave St Eunan’s College a narrow win in the Treanor Cup yesterday.

St Eunan’s College 1-6 St Louis, Ballymena 1-5

Gallagher’s goal arrived after only three minutes and was enough to give Eunan’s a one-point win over St Louis of Ballymena in Owenbeg.

The Treanor Cup is the Under-15-and-a-half competition and the Letterkenny school were able to hold their opponents at arm’s length.

St Eunan’s led 1-3 to 0-4 at the break and, while St Louis hit a late goal, they were able to stay in front.

St Eunan’s face Our Lady’s, Castleblaney in two weeks’ time.

St Eunan’s College scorers: Gareth Gallagher 1-0, Donal Gallagher (1f) 0-2, Daithí Gallagher, Oisin McGrenra, Max Roarty, Reed Kelly 0-1 each
