AS PART of Scoil Cholmcille Letterkenny’s new school video launch, Century Cinemas will premier the three-minute production on each screen until Wednesday 22 January.

A special launch event of the innovative school video and new school Facebook page took place at the school today before a packed audience.

Among the attendance were Minister of Education, Joe McHugh TD and Cllr. John O’Donnell, Cathaoirleach of Letterkenny Municipal District.

Guests came from the business, sports, education and media world.

The event distinguished itself by enabling all pupils and staff to attend the event from their classrooms through Facebook live streaming. This was also the first time that all school parents and extended families could watch an important school event via live streaming.

MC Charlie Collins elicited memories and nostalgia from many of the past pupils and who gave memorable and entertaining testimonies of their primary school days at Scoil Cholmcille.

Ice cream for all the pupils was sponsored by Ollie Harvey of Dale Farm.

One of the highlights of the event was the video testimonials from past pupils in Australia, United States and the Middle East, all wishing the school well in its launch.

The video was created to offer the digital age consumer a three minute insight into what is core and valued at Scoil Cholmcille as well as showcasing the rich range of educational experiences provided for its pupils.

This is a revolutionary first for the school as it showcases its work to parents of young families not only in the Letterkenny area but to those living in Dublin, London, Perth or the Phillipines and who are planning to come here to work.
