THE weather is causing disruption with sporting fixtures in Donegal this weekend.

Sunday’s New Balance FAI Intermediate Cup game between Bonagee United and College Corinthians has been called off.

Following a pitch inspection at Dry Arch Park this morning and in view of the overnight forecast a decision was made, in line with competition regulations, to postpone the game.

A statement from the Ulster Senior League said: “Following a pitch inspection at Dry Arch Park on Saturday morning, Sunday’s New Balance FAI Intermediate Cup game between Bonagee United and College Corinthians has been called off.

“The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 2nd at Dry Arch Park.”

Raphoe’s Irish Hockey Trophy quarter-final against Portrane, which was due to take place at the Royal and Prior, fell foul of the frosty weather. All three games which had been planned for the venue this afternoon had to be called off.

In the Donegal Saturday League, the Voodoo Venue Cup game between Kilmacrennan Celtic and Castlefin Celtic was called off.

Sunday’s big Premier Division game between Kilmacrennan Celtic and Kildrum Tigers is off due to a bereavement.
