Listen: Maxi Curran laments second-half show as Donegal ladies lose to Galway

MAXI Curran put Donegal Ladies’ defeat to Galway down largely to ‘inexperience’.

Curran mused that there ‘was a wee gulf in class and a big gulf in experience’ after a four-point defeat.

Donegal had a handsome 3-1 to 1-2 lead at a stage but, with Tracey Leonard on song, Galway won 3-12 to 4-5.

“We had a good first half and had ourselves in a great position but, ultimately, we didn’t do enough in the second half,” Curran told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“It was the old thing where you think the wind will do it for you, but Galway showed their class as well and their quality.

“It was a bit of inexperience on our behalf too. We didn’t make the most of the possession we had and Galway were a bit cuter and more cultured.”
