Mark English finished fifth in the men’s 600m last night at the AIT International Grand Prix.

English finished in 1:18:49 at Athlone.

At the weekend, the Letterkenny man finished sixth in the 800m race at the Millrose Games in New York, an event that began his competitive 2020.

Last night the 2019 European Indoor bronze medalist was fifth having been at the back from the early stages.

Poland’s Mateusz Borkowski was the winner in 1:17:40 with Ireland’s Zak Curran (1:17:66) second and Briton Guy Learmonth (1:17:77) in third.

Rás dochreidte rite ag Mateusz Borkowski, chríochnaigh sé in am 1:17:40.
Not the greatest performance from Mark English, he won't be too happy following that race.#AITGrandPrix @SportTG4 pic.twitter.com/QiwpHDy6fX
