The family of murdered Co Donegal woman Jasmine McMonagle have posted pictures of the tragic woman on the eve of what would have been her 30th birthday.

The mother-of-two was killed at her home in Killygordon in January last year.

Her ex-partner Richard Burke has since been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial for the killing.

Jasmine’s family have appealed to friends of the former model to celebrate her memory on what would have been her 30th birthday.

Posting on Facebook the family said “Jasmine’s birthday is on the 20th of February. She would have been celebrating her 30th birthday this year.

“Jasmine should still be here with her children, making plans with her family to celebrate her special day.

“For anyone who would like to remember Jasmine on this day by lighting a candle or a special gesture in her memory. It would be meaningful to her loved ones.

“Please share Smile for Jasmine keep Jasmine’s memory alive.”

Since her death, locals in Co Donegal have held a number of fund-raising events in a bid to raise money for Jasmine’s two children.
