Gallagher debuts as UCD rocked by late Wexford equaliser

MICHAEL Gallagher made his UCD debut last night in the Students’ 1-1 draw at Wexford Youths.

Gallagher was making promising sounds at Finn Harps last season, graduating from the Under-19s to the first team panel.

However, injury put an end to his involvement and the Letterkenny teenager took up a scholarship at UCD.

Last night, Gallagher was included in the starting XV while Donegal Town’s Jack Keaney – who has been appointed the UCD captain – was also included.

UCD led on 16 minutes through Colm Whelan, but they were denied by Conor English’s late leveller.
