Amazing Donegal band Evergreen lose out on The Voice but vow to sing on

Donegal songbirds Evergreen narrowly missed out last night on a place in the final sing-offs on The Voice UK 2020 show.

Coach Wil.i.am pitched the Dungloe teenagers Lara, Joni-K and Mary Briege against Johannes Pietsch in the first round of the battles.

Evergreen and Johannes had to sing Eva Cassidy’s song Songbird.

But after the battle was finished, Will had to pick on act to go into the next round of the competition.

He decided to go for Johannes.

Evergreen had one more chance to stay in the competition and were then up to be stolen.

Sadly, none of the other judges – Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs or Meghan Trainor – decided not to steal the talented trio.

It brought the curtain down on Evergreen’s involvement on the iTV Saturday night show.

The Voice UK 2020 continues next Saturday with the second set of battle rounds.

Those that survive the weekend will go forward to the knockout rounds next month.
