DECLAN Bonner says Donegal’s walking wounded remain on track to return for the May 17 Ulster Championship showdown with Tyrone.
Donegal host the Red Hands this Saturday evening in a Division 1 League encounter, but Bonner won’t be rushing back any of his players who are out with long-term injuries.
Jamie Brennan, who sustained a dead leg in the recent defeat by Dublin in Croke Park, should be available again this weekend.
Brennan sat out Donegal’s win over Monaghan, but Bonner said: “We’ll have a look at Jamie and we’re hoping that he’ll be available.
That’s the only doubt. Everyone else came through the Monaghan match well.”
The likes of Paddy McGrath, Stephen McMenamin, Oisin Gallen and Jason McGee are poised to return in time for the Championship clash in May.
“Nothing has changed for them,” Bonner said.
“They’re on a target to get back.
“Realistically, hopefully we’ll get them all back for the Championship.
“Anything can happen any of the guys. It’s never plain sailing when you go into rehab. If they get a clear run, they have every chance.”
Bonner admits that he will be assessing the make-up of his squad after the League.
He said: “We carried a big panel. It’s always reviewed at the end of the League. We’ll look at numbers of what we have and the balance.”
