Young Donegal man killed in Louth accident is named locally

THE young Donegal man killed in a road traffic accident in County Louth on Friday has been named locally as Seamus Sharkey.

Seamus, from Annagry, died after the car he was driving collided with a truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The crash happened on the N2 near Collon while the 21-year-old was traveling home to Donegal from work.

The road was closed for a time as Garda forensic collision investigators carried out an examination of the crash site.

Gardaí are asking for witnesses to come forward and have asked that any camera footage be made available.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact them on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111.
