“We’ll pick up where we left off when the world is ready” – Chloe Magee

DONEGAL badminton star Chloe Magee says everyone can pick up from where they left off once the coronavirus crisis eases.

Magee had been hoping to qualify for what would have been her fourth Olympic Games, but Tokyo 2020 has been pushed back to 2021.

Magee competed in Beijing (2008), London (2012) and Rio (2016) in the women’s single and was aiming to book a spot in Japan in the mixed doubles, playing with her brother Sam.

Sport in the Magee household, like many others, is down on the priority list – but Magee says everyone can work together to slow the spread.

“The most important thing is to stay safe and to do the right things to try and slow this virus down as much as we possibly can,” Magee said.

“Like most of you, I’m at home and trying to find different and new ways to train and keep myself fit and healthy.

“It’s not easy, but we are all in this together. When the world is ready, we will pick up from where we left off.”
