The death has taken place of well-known retired Garda George Healy of Hillhead, Kilmacrennan.
His passing is deeply regretted by his loving wife Sheila, sons Tim, Daniel and George, daughters Alice, Catherine and Jules, daughters in law, sons in law, 14 grandchildren, brother Charles, sister Mary Frances O’Donnoghue, brothers in law, sisters in law, extended family and friends.
George served as a Garda for a long number of years in Killmacrenan.
He was an old-style community Garda who always had time to speak to young and old.
Born in Belmullet, County Mayo and a strong GAA man, George was never afraid to show his true colours. He flew the Mayo flag for every game with pride and particulary when Donegal played Mayo.
George will be laid to rest in his adopted town of Killmacrenan on Monday at 2pm.
