Further 18 Covid-19 deaths reported in Northern Ireland hospitals

NORTHERN Ireland’s Public Health Agency has announced a further 18 Covid-19 related deaths this afternoon.

There have now been 176 deaths in the region’s hospitals.

Health officials in Northern Ireland are now also reporting deaths from outside the hospital setting.

It has been revealed that 41 patients died in care homes or hospices with seven people dying in private homes.

Another 137 people have tested positive for Covid-19, the PHA has said.

The total number of infections in Northern Ireland is now 2,338 with 15,025 people having been tested for the virus.
