A FURTHER 77 Covid-19 related deaths have been confirmed today by the Department of Health.
The figure is by far the largest number reported by health officials in a single day.
Four of those deaths were confirmed in the North West, 67 deaths were located in the east, 4 in the west and 2 in the south of the country.
Not all of the 77 deaths occurred within the last 24 hours, with some having posthumously testing positive. 54 of those had underlying health conditions.
There have now been 687 Covid-19 deaths in Ireland.
Another 401 confirmed cases have been announced, bringing the number to 15,652, since the outbreak.
Seven more cases have been confirmed in Donegal up to midnight Saturday, bringing the total in the county to 383.Tags:
