Rise in number of suspected Covid-19 patients at Letterkenny Hospital

The number of suspected Covid-19 cases in Letterkenny University Hospital has increased by 55% in one day.

There were 28 patients suspected of having the virus as of 8pm last night, up from 18 suspected cases on Saturday.

Letterkenny currently has the second highest number of suspected coronavirus cases, while University Hospital Limerick has Ireland’s highest figure with 43.

There are 12 confirmed cases of Covid-19 onsite in Letterkenny. No Covid-19 patients were recorded in Critical Care at LUH last night.

The latest HSE data shows that there are 7 vacant critical care beds in LUH and 51 general care beds available.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Donegal rose by one in yesterday’s update from the Department of Health, bringing the total in the county to 474.
