A number of car documents and sets of keys were stolen when a car was broken into at a house in Newmills outside Letterkenny.

The smash and grab took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday last between 9pm and 7.30am.

A car parked at a home in Drumennan had one of its back passenger windows smashed and a number of items were taken including logbooks and a number of sets of keys.

Gardai say these documents could be used as part of a car insurance fraud.

Anybody who knows anything about the burglary should contact Gardai in Letterkenny on 0749167100.
