Leak forces CCC into redrawing of Regional League fixtures

THE fixtures for the new Donegal GAA Regional League are being redrawn after the system was hacked and the original plan leaked this morning.

The Regional League – which sees the county split into six regionalised sections – is due to get underway next Friday, July 17.

Following the Donegal club championship draws last night, the Donegal Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) had hoped to release the Regional League fixtures today on the Donegal GAA website.

However, those plans have been delayed

“Unfortunately, an unauthorised source accessed our Servasport system and distributed said fixtures to a selection of different clubs,” a Donegal GAA spokesperson said.

“This is unfair to those clubs who have not been ’in the know’.

“The Secretary of the CCC is now going to re-arrange the fixtures – which is very dis-appointing given the amount of work done in order to set them up in the first instance.”

The Donegal County Board has apologised to clubs for the delay.

There will be six regional leagues, the first two rounds of which will be played before the start of the championships on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

There will be seven rounds of games with county players available for the first two rounds ahead of the championships.
