THERE are some rip-roaring derby ties to kick start the new Donegal GAA Regional League next weekend.
There are 18 games across the two Divisions, with a total of six sections of matches.
The Regional League fixtures had to be redrawn yesterday after a league saw the original plan leaked to some clubs. The CCC deduced to scrap their plan and start from scratch,
Section A has seven teams. Downings get a bye on the first weekend and the other games are between neighbours Gaoth Dobhair and Cloughaneely; and St Michaels and Termon; with Glenswilly travelling the short distance to Milford.
In Section B neighbours St Nauls and Naomh Conaill clash, Killybegs make the short journey to Towney to take on Kilcar and Naomh Columba host Ardara. Dungloe get a bye in Round 1.
In Section C Aodh Ruadh Beal Átha Seannaigh will be delighted to host Realt na Mara in Fr Tierney Park while Convoy travel to O’Donnell Park to play St Eunans and neighbours Sean MacCumhaills and Glenfin meet in Ballybofey.
In Division 2, there will be nine games on the first weekend.
In Section A Naomh Bríd begin their campaign in Tir Conaill Park against neighbours Four Masters while Na Rossa take on Naomh Ultan and Pettigo host Robert Emmets.
There are seven clubs in Section B – Buncrana take on Burt and Malin play Muff on Friday while Moville take on Urris on Saturday and Carndonagh have a bye.
In Section C Lifford play Red Hughs, Fanad Gaels host Naomh Colmcille and Letterkenny Gaels take on Naomh Muire Íochtar na Rosann.
