OVER 1,600 homes are without power in east Donegal tonight.

A fault in the Lifford area has affected 1,625 customers.

The outage at Rossgier was reported just after 9pm.

ESB crews are working to repair the fault and it is estimated that power will be restored by 12.45am.

A further fault at Cullion in Letterkenny has resulted in 68 customers being left without power. It is estimated that power will be restored by 10.45pm.

An ESB spokesperson said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault and will restore power as quickly as possible.”
