Sligo Rovers claimed their first points of the now resumed 2020 SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season this evening with a 2-0 victory over Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.

The Bit o’ Red, who lost all four outings before the halt was called to domestic football as a result of the CoVid-19 pandemic, opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Kyle Callan-McFadden, the Ramelton native, headed home on 19 minutes following a corner. Ronan Coughlan made it two on 51 minutes from the penalty spot.

Ballybofey’s Johnny Dunleavy was a Slig substitute, while Ciaran Coll, the former Finn Harps captain, was left-back for Derry.
