A local county councillor is calling for a meeting on the proposed development of a walk between Burtonport and Letterkenny.

Councillor Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig said the idea of the walk has been around for a long time.

However, he condemned the lack of action on the council’s behalf on the matter.

He said “I would ask that we have a meeting as soon as possible to answer what a lot of people in the Glenties MD feel that we are being left behind in relation to the railway walk development from Burtonport to Letterkenny.

“We still don’t have a full-time member of staff working to develop this project.”
