Letterkenny Cricket Club win again in cliffhanger, as St Johnston lose at home

LETTERKENNY Cricket Club claimed another win on Saturday in a nail-biting T20 qualifying tie.

Letterkenny defeated Coleraine by two runs in their latest match in their group.

Batting first, Letterkenny were put all out for 65 runs in 16.3 overs.

Rahul Singh top-scored with 11 while Fernandes hit nine and Aneesh, Rahul Sisangia and Sudheesh each scored five.

In reply, Coleraine were 63 for six in their 20 overs.

Handforth scored 24 and Knox landed 16, but Deepak claimed four wickets for the Letterkenny side, who took a narrow win from a cliff-hanger.

St Johnston, meanwhile, lost by 96 runs at home to Newbuildings.

Johnny Thompson scored 51 runs and claimed five wickets as Newbuildings took a big win.

Gareth McKeegan scored 65 as Newbuildings scored 178-4 in their 20 overs.

St Johnston saw Ramees Machinga score 38 not out, but Thompson was on song with the ball as St Johnston could only make 82 for the fall of seven wickets in reply.
