Updated: Search called off after ‘shouting’ heard on Errigal Mountain

Gardai are continuing their investigations after shouting was heard from Errigal Mountain last night.

Just before 10pm members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to the mountain.

The team scrambled and searched the area for a number of hours but found nothing.

A spokesperson confirmed “Team was tasked at 21:58hrs, after a concerned member of the public contacted emergency services when they heard shouting coming from Errigal mountain.

“Team carried out a search on Errigal and surrounding area, and found nothing of significance. Gardaí are continuing investigation, and DMRT are now returning to base.”

Weather conditions in the area was challenging last night with heavy fog setting in.
