DRUMKEEN United Football Club has confirmed that activity has resumed following a negative Covid-19 test.

All activity at the St Patrick’s Park club was suspended as a precaution earlier this week.

A player reported Covid-19-like symptoms and went for a test.

Drumkeen have today confirmed that the test returned negative and activity will resume.

Drumkeen are to face Kilmacrennan Celtic on Sunday in the Donegal League Premier Division and the club’s reserve side is pencilled in to face Drumoghill Celtic Reserves on Saturday.

The Drumkeen United statement said: “The recent Covid test result for our player has thankfully come back Negative .This is great news for everyone but especially the player concerned.

“Well done to the player for doing the responsible thing and informing us that he had the test done. Hopefully now it is all systems go with no more hiccups and we can fulfil our remaining fixtures at senior level and continue with our youth league and underage commitments.

“The virus has not gone away and we must be mindful of this at all times and do our utmost to follow all the guidelines that are in place. Look after yourselves and stay as safe as possible and hopefully we can all get through this together.”
