The number of people being referred for Covid-19 tests in Donegal has risen further in the past two weeks.
Testing has tripled in the Donegal Community Testing Centre since last month – with 547 tests carried out at O’Donnell Park Letterkenny last week.
The number of people being referred for tests jumped by 40% the previous week. From 10th -16th August, there were 537 community tests carried out, up from 382 tests carried out between 3rd and 9th August.
In mid-July, the average number of tests carried out at the facility was just over 200 each week.
In the past fortnight, there were, on average, 83 tests per day conducted at the O’Donnell Park facility.
There have been 512 cases of coronavirus detected in Donegal since the beginning of the outbreak. Twenty two of those cases were confirmed in the past fortnight.
