A popular Letterkenny restaurant/takeaway has closed its doors temporarily due to a Covid precaution.

Burrito Loco on the Port Road last night closed its doors after a relative of a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

A note on the award-winning restaurant’s Facebook page informed its customers that they were “compelled” to close the premises.

It said “In the interest of our staff, customers and reputation we are compelled to treat this situation with the utmost seriousness and urgency.

“In the last hour we have been made aware that a parent of one of our employees has tested positive for covid19.”

Since reopening in April the popular eaterie has been using thermal temperature checks and assessing all staff on arrival to work.

And management reported that to date they have not had anybody with a high temperature or Covid symptoms.

The statement form management added “Tomorrow (Fri) we will be closing Burrito Loco and as a purely precautionary measure we will be implementing our covid plan and asking our employees to contact their GP to seek advice on being tested before reopening Burrito Loco.

“We will keep you informed of any outcome as a precautionary measure we will be carrying out a thorough deep clean of our premises tomorrow.

“I hope you understand that the measures we are taking is for the continued safety for staff and customers. We look forward to seeing you after we carry out this process.”
